The St. Matthew/Central building is used by several community groups. The Anthony Bean Community Theatre uses the building for productions as well as running a New Orleans Recreation Department program teaching acting to children in the summer months. READ, an early reading program is another group using our facility as well as Infancy to Independence (I to I) which is a non-profit organization and education center. The Metropolitan Community Church uses our sanctuary on Sunday evenings for their services and there is a German language service that is held the first Sunday of every month. One of the New Orleans neighborhood associations, the Central Carrolltan Community Association, also uses our building for their meetings. St. Matthew/Central is delighted to host these community groups. |

Pennsylvania South East Conference

Soon after Katrina, St. Matthew developed a relationship with the UCC Pennsylvania Southeast Conference . The initial contact was made by a St. Matthew’s UCC in Chester Springs, PA. Through special services and fundraisers, they worked hard to provide support for hurricane relief. Then, in January 2005, the Pennsylvania Southeast Conference leadership voted to form an official partnership between St. Matthew and the 180 churches of the Conference. During this partnership St. Matthew was the recipient of much needed help in developing it's recovery team facility. We thank the PSEC |

Connecticut Conference and Central Atlantic Conference
Partially because of its extravagant welcome and also because of prior relationships, both the Connecticut Conference and the Central Atlantic Conference partnered with Central to help Central and its members through recovery from Katrina. We thank them for their help when it was most needed
