After the service all are welcome at the potluck in Fellowship Hall.  There will be a silent auction to benefit the Hume Center.  The Hume Center is a day care center for children 15 months to 5 years. It is an ongoing ministry of both of our churches. Thank you to Noel Braning and Nancy Marks for organizing the event.  Thank you, also, to Ellen Bentz, Elizabeth Kordahl and Marie Weatherspoon for organizing the potluck. As always our thanks to Mike Duplessis.

It is still not too late to turn in your pledge card.  Help the Central and St. Matthew finance teams and their treasurers know what resources will be available in their budget planning

It’s not too late to sign up for a Thanksgiving Basket. Our goal is to provide 20 baskets; we have 11 committents.  Please sign up in the lobby.  You may contribute a turkey, the trimmings, or both.  If you like, you may give cash instead of food, or purchase a $30 food coupon from Rouse.  Please give the cash and coupons to Ellen Pecoul or Paulette Timpton. Remember to bring your food or other donations no later than next Sunday.  We will put turkeys in the church freezer upstairs.  Family Services will pick up our contributions.

If you have not received one, be sure to pick up your report on the October 19th workshop where the brainstormed vision components for our congregation were prioritized and put in a time line for 2009.  This is a huge vision that warrants your reflection and prayer.

A retreat to help you identify your gifts and talents, DISCERNING YOUR SPIRITUAL GIFTS, will be held on Saturday, December 6th FROM 9:00 AM UNTIL 4:00 PM.  It will be held at Xavier University in the Student Activity Center. Please mark your calendars.

December 7th  Central All Congregational meeting.  Members will adopt a budget and elect officers for 2009.  December 14th  St. Matthew All Congregational meeting to elect Council members and an Endowment Committee member.

It seems early to be thinking about Christmas worship services, but planning must be done early.  In previous years the Christmas Eve service has been very well attended, but the Christmas morning service is sparse.  The Worship Committee wants to know how you feel about having a service on Christmas Day.  Next Sunday, on this announcement page, there will be a tear-off paper where you can express your opinion on whether there should be a Christmas morning worship service.
