We are pleased to welcome a recovery group from Edison, New Jersey this week. The group will be working with Habitat for Humanity. We will be giving the group a red beans and rice dinner on Wednesday night at 6 and if you would like to join us for dinner, please call Arlean Fermanis at 866-8908.

Missing Hymnals!
The church is missing several hymnals including a number of our African American Heritage Hymnals and New Century Hymnals. If you have mistakenly walked one home, we would be very pleased if you would walk it back to its church home. Thank you on behalf of the Choir and Congregation.

Future Events
On Sunday, August 23 the DVD "The Color of Fear" will be shown after church service. This film is the lead in to the book discussion on "Race in America" that will start in September, times and dates to be worked out with those planning on participating in the discussion. all are welcomed and encouraged to attend the showing of "The Color of Fear".
New Covenant Discussions
There are copies of the revised New Covenant available in the foyer for you to take home, read and consider. This revised version has been approved by the Central Governance
Board and the St. Matthew Council. On August 30 and September 20 all are encouraged to meet in the Sanctuary after service to discuss, question and consider the New Covenant. If we need to have additional meetings we will schedule them. It is the hope of the leadership that each congregation will vote on the New Covenant in early October
It is time once again to update the Church Directory. If you have moved, changed or added a phone number, etc., please contact the Church office (861-8196). I am in the office Wednesday through Friday mornings and also Thursday afternoons. If this isn’t convenient, you can leave a message on the answering machine. Also, if you don’t have your picture in the directory but would like to have it in there, please call and make arrangements to have your picture taken. Thanks. Pat Godfrey.
